I have put only 20 miles on mine, and I can already whole-heartedly endorse one: a larger interior rearview mirror.
The actual clear vision area out the back will not be any larger, but the mirror is so far forward that the viewing angle is very narrow. Move your head a few inches, and you lose what little vision you had.
If the mirror was an inch or less wider and taller, forward vision obstruction would be negligible, and it would be much easier to keep the rear view in view.

I used the same mirror I had in my Honda Element. I bought it through JC Whitney and it clamps on top of the original mirror. You can't use the sun visors as easily as before, but they are useless, anyway! Also, I stuck on two-inch round convex mirrors, one on each side mirror, that help quite a bit, as well.

Mods to date: New and Improved Tire cover, with the FJ, tire tracks, and the word "Cruiser" free-hand painted by my wonderful wife
A-Trac,Dual horn,Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor's w/MB Razor wheels
Florida "Shark" specialty license plate saying "KRUSR"
Good ideas. (So many flippin' stickers on the driver's visor, I'm surprised there's not one warning me not to exit the vehicle while it's moving!)
Here's another predicted revision: while I like the looks of the bug-eye tail lights, on a vehicle of the FJ's character (serious off-road capability) they are far too vulnerable. (And any guard cage would look hideous.) I predict that a more flush-mounted lens will be on the '08s.
-Bigger interior mirror
-Larger outside mirrors with built in convex blind spot mirror near bottom
-Better exterior color choices. (Tan and White)
-Redesign front bumper (silver "winglets"?)
-Offer the steel wheels in white to match the roof
-Pop open rear side windows for ventilation
-Sliding manual canvas safari-style sunroof option
-Barn style rear doors like the old FJ40. The current rear door is awful.
-Xenon HID headlight option
That's it! You got everything else right Toyota USA. Excellent first effort!!! Now you just need to fine tune the current FJ to make it perfect.
I do not know what the big deal is. The blind spots on the FJ aren't that bad. I sat in a rice rocket and had a worse time lookin' around to see if I'm gonna get run over by a truck.

Once you're used to it and have the mirrors adjusted right, there are no blind spots--more or less.
Still it's a shock to get into my 40 with the top down and have 360 degrees of visibility then sit in the pillbox that is the FJC.
Makes me feel like I'm riding an armored vehicle.
And I likes it.

Our only complaint is the visors lack of usefulness on the door windows!! need some side visors or slide out extensions from the useless ones! and make the controls on the doors illuminate at night.

ONE does.
The AUTO on the left driver's window.
That's it.

my auto must be dim, or not working, all the same. I'll check to be sure! as a passenger though it would be nice to roll the window down w/out fumbling with the locks!
