Ordering /production?

I am getting conflicting info one two items.

1. Can you order a unit exatly like you want it, or do distributors get what they get?
2. How many FJ's are they going to build each year?

1. Only if you know your dealer really well. If you want one "loaded" it will be easier.

2. 44k this year.

If you want a bare bones model, say just a MT CQ, and you order it, be prepared to wait and even then, there are no guarantees! Good luck to you either way!

Model numbers are getting up there. From the forum recent numbers around 33,000 sold. In what about 6 months? Just think how many have been ordered for months and still not come in. My dealership had 4 on his lot last weekend.Gone now. I stopped by yesterday just to get touchup paint and my FJ was mobbed by salespersons.Told them no not interested in trading in. They are not sure now when they will get any in to sell on lot! Hmm makes me wonder about the resale value of a used FJ in the near future?

I called all 5 area dealers, each had maybe 1 on on the lot at the time but they weren't my color. One had ordered the color I wanted coming in to port in a week and nobody had it yet so I put a deposit, then they modified it at the port for all the options I wanted. That's the best way - otherwise you gotta go with what they've got or maybe they can get one from another dealer and modify it but you won't get the 3/36K warranty coverage on that work.
