Unhappy Have to sell it

Well the wife wants to get a camper and the one we want is at the edge of the FJ towing capacity so I plan on selling the FJ to get something else.

I hate to do it but I have no other choice. I think I will do much better trying to sell it out right instead of trading since I've only made 3 payments.

I am willing to make a trade with someone for their factory wheels and tires (Plus a little $$$). I have a set of Enkei 16 inch aluminum wheels with BFG M/T's (285/75/16) all four tires and spare. I have about 2000 miles on the tires.

I also have a kenwood navigation/in dash DVD player that may be going as well.

Here are the tires:

oh man, do you have to sell it!? if so try your hardest selling it on your own. sorry to hear this. i'm up in CT but would have entertained an offer, heh. but i'm on my way to purchase one shortly. I know i've seen about 8 used FJs around my area and the prices are still near new so you should get it back hopfully. good luck!

Retail on it was $32000 when I bough it. There is no used blue book value on it right now but the new blue book value said it was around $36000. Impressive.

I plan on just selling it for what I owe and maybe leaving the Navigation/DVD in at that price.

Re: Have to sell it

Not sure if your mind is made up, you did say "You hate to do it".

If you are on the "edge of towing capacity" that isn't well past the capacity.

How about trailer brake and a transmission cooler and keep the FJ?

I have always believed (especially in this day and age) that listed capabilities are padded and very conservative in order to avoid lawsuits.

Re: Have to sell it

The one problem is that the mods you made are not factory, and may interfere with the waranty on transfer. Also, unless someone gives you cash, they are looking at a used vehicle interest rate which is very high, Thus it may be cheaper for them to pay more & buy new.

How much do you think you could get for one of those? I would have paid someone to get rid of my old one.

Wait..... I did Pay!

That was my first thought and may still be an option.
