Re: New flowmaster muffler

Actually, look for one in which you can look thru one end and see thru the other. Flowmaster is not one of them, Magnaflow is.
In either case - Enjoy It!

I THINK if you can see through it, it's packing, that will wear out quicker than baffle's. But a packed muffler has less back pressurs than a baffled one has. I just want something that lasts.

The packing material is Stainless Steel and supports the product having a LIFE TIME Warranty. I will personally guarantee that Magnaflow is one of (probably not the only) choices that would make you very happy.

http://www.borla.com/faqs/

The TRD is made by Borla (another good company) they also opt away from the baffle design, which looks like the Plinko game from The Price is Right.

Baffles are the same technology used in certain types of musical instruments. Basically a Baffle style muffler is more interested in the "sound" that eminates from it than the actual flow rate and scavenging properties. A properly designed exhaust has a series of negative pressure that in effect creates a suction that assists in evacuating the exhaust gases from the cylanders during the exhaust stroke (valves open up) and if more exhaust is evacuated then there is more room for the clean air/fuel mix = more HP/TQ and greater efficiency.
