Road & Track (March)-FJ Covered

Got my R&T today and they have a 2 pager on the FJ.

Article is a brief overview, nothing really new, but does give it a good thumbs up and says it should prove very popular.

They said it rides slightly better than the 4runner on pavement and works exceptionally well off-road.

Rides better than the 4runner on pavement and will spank it in the dirt - sounds like we've got a winner!

Re: Road & Track (March)-FJ Covered

i was sorely disappointed when the new car and driver had NOTHING on the FJ. i know they had an overview in the february issue but i was expecting a full test and/or a comparrison with the xterra and H2. its especially unfair as they have a FULL test of the new camry.

That is SO KEWL. So what you're saying is: as it gets colder out, the lights get brighter????

That's is soooo much better than the ones that 'look around corners' for you as you turn.

CaliFJ, you're not buying in round one, right? Funding or some such other issue? You can ride in mine when I get it!!! (I'm just up the hwy).

yup. not in round one. kinda happy im saving myself the stress - as i really just want a base model with convenience and perhaps a few options. doesnt look like we're getting much of a choice. instead of sleeping on youralls couches ill just sleep in your FJs. is there enough room in the back?

Probably is room in back if you're under 6'5", can sleep on a diagonal, and have no problems with a 'slight kink' in your back (aka "folds nearly flat" seat induced posture change) about 2/3rds of the way up from the rear door.......
