Tire shop cannot lift FJ

I went to a well known tire shop to have my tires rotated. They didn't know where to place the jacks for the front. They tried on the tow hooks, to the max lift of the floor jack, but the tires still didn't leave the ground.

Is there a special jack needed, and where other than the tow hooks can they lift the front of the FJ?

What kind of 'well known tire shop' does not have a lift? You mean the only way this particular tire shop gets their customers tires off the ground is with a hand operated car jack? Not sure I would want to take my FJ (or any car for that matter) to a place like that. Are they taking the lug nuts off manually too? I know this doesn't answer your question, but ultimately I don't think you should be doing business at that kind of place. Just my opinion.

You're right, but I didn't make myself clear. It sounds like they have nothing but floor jacks...I just can't imagine a shop today that didn't have at least one lift.

And as you mentioned, TOW HOOKS for jacking UP the FJ??? If a tire shop can't find a suitable spot to place a jack on the frame (I mean, come on here...we're not talking rocket science), I would be thinking twice about letting them do anything to my ride.

Haha, well my favorite tire shop is a place in Athens Texas and they don't have a single lift...... but they are a lil bit mom and pop you know?

Must be. But I would like to think the best mom & pop shops know how to locate the frame on any vehicle (hell, some of the best mom&pop places could probably build a frame for most vehicles). This place does not sound like they are anywhere close to that caliber of knowledge.

Hell, I have a three ton jack at home.

Who are these assclowns?

And like it's been posted, there are jack points on the frame.
