Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

Is is just me or is anyone else disappointed in the five color choices? Smurf blue, dandelion yellow, Purple (you can call it Black Cherry, everyone else will call it purple). Black is impossible to keep clean, and silver is so bland and boring. Would it have been so hard to do a metallic Olive, a dark Khaki, Sangria Red metallic, Bright red mica, copper-orange, charcoal metallic, or midnight Blue?

If I get one, it will be the boring silver. Looks great with a white roof. (sarcasm)

Maybe I'll wait a year.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

We have discussed this topic ad nauseum. Agreed on any of the colors you suggested.

The white roof is supposed to be a retro styling queue back to the FJ40. Even the FJ40 offered better color selection than the FJ. They did say that they plan on offering one Special Edition each year and that the color pallette would probably expand as the production run goes on. So, be vocal about your color WANTS and maybe Toyota will listen. I know that they monitor the forum from time to time to get a feel for what we would like to see. Not a bad place to start. You could also email Toyota directly with your thoughts on what color should be next. It might help - I think the majority of the forum is leaning towards the SEMA green one. Kind of a flat khaki lookin' color.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

I just joined the forum today after going to the closest dealer for info/look-see. Of course, after starting this thread noticed much of discussion about the color topic. Pretty active on the GTO and Solstice forums and am familiar how these places work. Looking forward to learning and seeing others get their FJs.

Still, I think I'll wait for something in a copper-orange metallic color. Understand the nod to the past with the white roofs, but living in Maine, I'm not too concerned with overheating! Would get it painted to match the rest of the body.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

I don't know about y'all, but I'm getting to the point where I want the FJ released not so much so that I can buy one (I'm planning on probably waiting to see if a Tan Special Edition makes it out the door), but just to give us something new to talk about.

I can't wait to see the first engine dissection thread.

Cheers,
prat

Re: Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

Prat, I'm with you.... I would like to get an opportunity to have a ligitimate discussion about this rig. If you want some fun, though do a search for 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and check out the other sites. It's laughable. At least we have been blessed with a decent group of guys (and girls - all 3 of em') on this site. One of the other forums that boasts that it is the Center of all things FJ - has a whopping 24 members.

Yes Toyota, we're not happy with your color selection. Fire crayon boy and get someone who has a clue in your paint factory. Aside from that, BRING ON THE FJ SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT SOMETHING MEANINGFUL.

Sorry... I'm better now.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with Colors?

Yeah, the colors are lame. Blue is the only way to go imo. The FJ seems to work with only certain colors. Silver which is one of my favorite car colors does'nt even work on the FJ, at least in the pictures. Come on Toyota, no GREEN?????
