Question recommended tire rotation & seat moving problem

i've mentioned this in another post, but haven't received too much input -

1. how come the dealership didn't use the toyota/owner's manual recommended tire rotation - which includes the spare?

2. anyone having a problem with the driver's seat shifting slightly and annoyingly? any solutions? dealership says they couldn't reproduce.

thanks,

-joey

Re: recommended tire rotation & seat moving problem

I had the driver's seat thing for a little bit. My problem was that one side of the seat wasn't "locked in" to the track, and the other side was. Led to some bouncing and sliding on the turns, but once I slid it back and forth a few times and got the seat locked, I never had the problem again.

I have the seat problem......the seat back rocks back and forth a bit and the seat itself makes a popping noise at times.
Nothing big, one of these days I`ll have a look at it.

yeah I'm having a problem with the seat as well and will let the dealer know when I go in to replace my tires. I think it's probabaly the seat slider not locking all the way

The dealer tech. dropped the ball. Make them go back and get it right (at on charge!); the spare should be included in the rotation. If all else fails, open your owners manual and show them the correct pattern.

Re: recommended tire rotation & seat moving problem

Did you go to Peterson or Tom Scott for the rotation?

Jonna and I have two good friends at Tom Scott--one in finance one in sales. I'm not sure what kind of pull they have there, but they might be able to get you some better service if you're interested.

Learn to live with the seat.

The dealer tried to fix mine on two occasions.

No go.

It was designed bad and short of Toyota designing a new one, it's not going to go away.

Jim! Good to see you on here. This forum is ridiculously helpful, corny and addictive. I finally feel like I belong to a group - and it only took tens of thousands of dollars to join!

I'm going to call Tom Scott and ask them their opinion on the tire rotation. After my new stereo is replaced next week by Peterson's, I will be taking the FJ to Tom Scott.

The seat rocking issue - it's not too bad. But, I'll ask Tom Scott and keep looking for a cure.

thanks all,

-joey

Re: recommended tire rotation & seat moving problem

there's a few posts about remedying squeaks. i remember on about making sure all the seats, front and back, are locked into place. some people use sound dampening material if the rattle is from the door panels.
