Good question. In my opinion for most application on the FJ Cruiser weight or lighter vehicles the 17,600# capacity would be good. Things to take in consideration are the types of recoveries you'll be doing. If you're one of the guys that likes playing in the mud, sand or any type of terrain where you could really bury the vehicle you would probably want to bump up to the 24,000 pound strap. Keep in mind the straps are designed to stretch and this aids in recovery. Too heavy a strap and you would loose this stretch. Where we offroad we use our straps for basically light pulls and extractions. For any bad stuck or extraction you're probably better off going to a winch, because it's easier on the vehicles and more controllable.

This is my opinion, for more detailed explanation of strap safety and applications you may want to consult the manufacturors directly.

Thanks,
Gerone

Re: ARB Recovery Gear

Just sold the last snatch block and we have two of the tow straps left.

BTW we'll be closed Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th for the Toyota Jamboree.

Re: ARB Recovery Gear

Thanks for the orders!

We just received the new 9000 snatch blocks, part number 10100020.

We have one ARB201 strap left and one ARB201HD strap left.

As soon as we get in the new style straps and tree savers we'll post up some specials.

Call us at 866-233-4305 or PM us for pricing.

Thanks,
Gerone

Re: ARB Recovery Gear

Hi Bob,

Still waiting on the tree savers and some of straps (HD's), may be another six weeks .

This link is to the recovery kits: 4WD vehicle recovery is an inescapable element of driving off road

We're in the process of updating the ad. On the #1 kit the price is going down to $262.99 delivered conus. WITH the new style tree saver and HD strap, plus we're upgrading the snatch block to the new "9000"

As soon as this stuff hits our dock I'll be posting up that it's available.

BTW I found another ARB201 strap in the warehouse, so if anyone's interested shoot us a PM.

Thanks,
Gerone
