By shifting the tubing to the left, I am correct to assume that the engine cover will no longer fit?
From looking at the pictures, it would seem you could just slide the red silicone connector on the side nearest the spacer over the air tube some more. this would leave the little stud for the engine cover in the same spot. I can't verify this since i don't have it, but someone can easily check this assumption for you, cough cough.

SO what's the consensus of the performance after the Install of the TBS with a the AFE CAI? or there isn't one yet?

No noise(I thought I hear one around 3000 rpm changing gears, but not sure), maybe alittle extra spunk, I'm not sure because I was getting on it trying to hear a noise or whistle, in turn killed my mpg for that tank. I'll probably fill up again today and see what I got for the weekend, if any difference. But there again my mpg jumps around something horriable, sometimes 15.5 sometimes 19 same driving through the week.

Re: aFe Throttle Body Spacers!!!

I installed mine last week. At the same time I cleaned out the aFe intake and installed the prefilter sock overtop the Pro-Dry S filter. I just did a drive that before I got about 19mpg and this time I got 20.3mpg according to my ScangaugeII. As for performance it's hard to tell. Right now the air is so cold and dense that gives more of a performance boost than what I would expect with the TBS. I think sometimes I can hear a wooshing sound near the 2k to 3k RPM range. Other than that it looks pretty under the hood. I'm considering removing the engine cover as it doesn't quite fit right with everything. Maybe I'll just put some insulation on the hood to protect from overheating problems in the summer and just keep the engine bay more open to breathe.

Re: aFe Throttle Body Spacers!!!

I've got the AFE CAI and the TBS installed.

Feels a little more responsive at low RPMs and seems to have less tendancy to downshift at freeway speeds when I hit a hill. Not sure if that is real or imagined or why it would have that effect but someone on here mentioned that it might so maybe it is just wishful thingking on my part.

What is real is no increase in MPG. Stuck right on 14 three tanks in.

Re: aFe Throttle Body Spacers!!!

Just an FYI. I got the aFe TBS installed tonight and it is exactly the same design and construction as the Helix TBS. But, probably cheaper with the group buy.

Re: aFe Throttle Body Spacers!!!

I installed mine today... not sure if it feels any different, as my FJ is much overweight, but it sounds cool. I think with my skids, rails, bumper, winch, lights, etc, etc, 6Hp just gets lost. My little brother really digs the sound, and we both can hear a difference, but it may be amplified by my snorkel...?

It is definitely not annoying, atleast not in my opinion or with my setup:

Intake = snorkel to CAI to TBS

This buy is still good until they ask me to close it, so send me a PM when you are ready if you are interested.

Thanks again!
