Was it a carburetor spacer or a throttlebody spacer?

They backed up their claims with a dyno sheet...

6HP and 10 ft lbs is not a whole lot, but this IS what they claim to have gotten with the intake installed as well.

I didn't believe in TBS either, but then I talked it over with my old man. You are basically increasing the volume your plenum can hold, meaning there is that much more air for the cylinders to draw from when they need it.

I would definitely agree that an actual intake on the outside of the throttle body will give you more bang for your buck, but at $85 I am willing to give it a shot first hand. aFe knows their stuff. Atleast TRD thinks so.

Headers, intake, exhaust, it all adds up. Another 6 HP from a TBS sounds reasonable.

The CARB number is supposed to be on the TBS apparently, and these will work with stock, aFe, and TRD intakes I have been told.

If it will fit a K&N model 77 i am in!

It mounts between the throttle body and the intake manifold.

Is that the K&N intake system?

Re: aFe Throttle Body Spacers!!!

From personal experience, it should fit. I had a different TBS on my FJ and it took up the extra space in between all of the rubber couplings on my CAI. Now for the bad part, there was a noticeable howl when you put your foot into it, even before it was WOT. To me, it sounded like a turbo spooling up. It was there and kind of loud. I imagine if you had a TRD or other exhaust, it might sound differently, but I would not know for sure. I took it off the FJ when I traded it, still have it and have been debating about re-using it. If they did do dyno testing on their TBS, with those kind of numbers, I may be more inclined to put it on the Taco.
