This is a great deal and now I just need a CAI.

What kit is the best on the market?
In my opinion, you are looking for the aFe intake. It is the same as the TRD intake except it comes with a removeable plug which will allow you to choose additional airflow (plug out) or strictly colder fenderwell air (plug in), as you see fit.

Having the plug in may keep your filter cleaner for longer.

It also comes with three filter choices, but the prices vary a little filter to filter. Still, if you get in on the aFe group buy, the ProGuard7 (most expensive) is still going to be cheaper than a TRD intake from anywhere, so you can put the savings towards more mods!

Hope this helps, and of course, look around at all the options before you buy.

Cheers

You have company stickers Joel?

Throw one in the catback box and I will gladly sport it on my FJ.
I would love to support a great guy who stands by his stuff!!
My secret is out! I think Phil is the only one to be sporting it, I gave a couple to local guys already but I am not sure if they are sticker type guys.

Sure Gabe! I'll bring one when we meet up for the catback. They are a nice white vinyl like the forum stickers. Thanks man!

Re: JBA Headers and/or Exhaust Group BUY!!!

Sweet! I don't have any stickers yet so this will be my first! Woot!

So the AFE CAI is the same as the TRD CAI? Will the AFE filters work on my TRD intake? Just wondering b/c the TRD only came with the one.

Thanks

Yes. You got a standard filter with red oil. Same thing in the standard intake from aFe but it is blue oiled. If you ever want to buy another standard and don't mind it being blue, or a ProGuard7 or ProDryS, just let me know. I keep some here...

Re: JBA Headers and/or Exhaust Group BUY!!!

Just a word of caution for those installing the headers themselves! Be careful removing and reinstalling any of your O2 sensors!! I galled the threads of the AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) sensor (Like an O2 sensor but much more expensive!) and then burned out one of the O2 sensors after welding them up! Use a lot of PB Blaster on them before you remove them and make sure your wrench is fully seated before applying any torque! If you have a shop do the install be sure they will either repair or replace the sensors if they become damaged!

Re: JBA Headers and/or Exhaust Group BUY!!!

FJoel are you with jba or a vendor? The reason i ask is, i have talked to jba directly about install on my headers and this makes me think i should get the cat-back now.

Let's just say I have a really good relationship with them, and one of their distributors in the US. I am in Canada, if that makes sense.

Re: JBA Headers and/or Exhaust Group BUY!!!

Joel,

The Catback sounds awesome! TRD CAI and the Catback are a perfect match. Maybe one day when I have the $$ we can do up the headers but for now I am more than satisfied with the set up. Thanks again for all your help! You rock man!

Noob question - How many of you installed the exhaust on your own? I was thinking about joining this GB and letting a shop do it, but I don't even know what shop to go to.

The exhaust is easy to install but I would have a shop install the headers.

Order the exhaust on this group buy and you can do it at your house with just standard tools. These prices are the lowest I have seen and I love my JBA products. "Thanks Joel"
