Re: Presale: Springtail M-PAC side rack Combo

No offense intended. It looks to be good product that I'd love to have.

As for the expensive comment, I think FJ owners are getting bent-over by many of the companies providing custom accessories and modifications, including ARB, 4WheelParts, All-Pro, etc. (and as shown by your customer comments, you are not to be included). The same parts for a Tacoma are marked up as high as 25% more for FJ's.

Re: Presale: Springtail M-PAC side rack Combo

I was a little put-off because you wouldn't throw Logan in with the purchase of a rack. Where's the customer service in that? Where's "the customer is always right?" Where is the love? I'm not feeling it right now. You're being selfish keeping Man's Best Friend all for yourself, Doc!

-- but I'm afraid that I'm going to order a side rack anyway.

No harm done, a little extra commentary on the side though....American metal fabricators need our help right now. The cost of steel has sky-rocketed in the past few months and they are facing 20% increases in costs of materials alone. A lot of the cool small manufacturers may not be able to continue in business if we don't support them.

Springtail could save a ton by moving the manufacture of our racks overseas but instead we continue in our commitment to support our metal fabricators in the midwest (Also a certain Canuck who makes some pretty nice billet).

Larry,

Logan is not for sale but I have a certain nosy black dog with mange and habit of eating electrical parts that I might let you have.

Is the installation pretty simple on these?

Re: Presale: Springtail M-PAC side rack Combo

Got my side rack today and got it installed in less than 20 minutes, outstanding packaging an quality parts. This mod is a great addition to my Cruiser and I would highly recomend if your looking to add some storage options. Now I need to justify the back door pac. Two thumbs up!!

I ordered mine. Not sure what I'm going to do with the dog but I'll make due.

Re: Presale: Springtail M-PAC side rack Combo

I wanted the cool dog thrown in on the deal...

Doc said no.

So I settled for the Side M-Pac - and I'm very happy with it.

But I still like his dog (Logan).

Sweet, I'll put my co2 tank there as well. Maybe my tool bag. What did you do with the bag they included in the kit?

I am still trying to get the "Scorpion" mount fabricated. It will allow Doc's M-PAC racks to be mounted above/behind the back seat. When that happens there will be bags all the way across the back/top and a shotgun mounted on the forward portion of that bulkhead. So the bag will ultimately go there and the power tank will be moved to the other side of the FJ, attached to the Scorpion mount (an endoskeleton made of DOM) that will fit in the back of the FJ. At the moment, my first aid kit (large) is on the other wall of the FJ attached to the shopping bag hooks (OEM hooks). When it's done I'll get some racks from Doc and put 'em in there to create considerably more storage and hard points than now exist.
