Thumbs up My new XD-M 9mm Bi-Tone 19+1

just picked up my second pistol...

the Springfield XD-M in 9mm 19+1 in Black/Stainless...
a very nice light weight handgun....

its almost the same size as the XD 0.45 when you match them up side by side..the XD-M 9mm has a 4.5in barrell as opposed to a 5in barrell...
only a 1/2 in difference in length of slide...

this makes for a really nice feel...with a proper grip, recoil is very minimal using 9mm...

i really like this piece....it was rated 2009 handgun of the year by the NRA..

the pic below is from the SA website and is the 0.40....the 9mm has the same config

my only complaint originally was that the loader that comes with the XD-M doesnt work that well for me....and you definitely need one with the 19round mag...i picked up a sweet loader at the range...its called the 'uplula'

I have the Springfield XD Subcompact, I love it, personally I prefer it over glocks, it feels like a better gun, and I love the added safety features, and it is, after all a Springfield, great guns! The full size XDS are beautys.

Re: My new XD-M 9mm Bi-Tone 19+1

how's the build quality?

"made in croatia" made me kind of turn away from them.

Re: My new XD-M 9mm Bi-Tone 19+1

Very nice. I'm continually impressed with the build quality of my XD40 over my HKs and Glocks. Everything is much heavier duty from the polymer to all of the internal steel parts....then again, none of my Glocks or HKs have ever broken so maybe it's unnecessary, but it's still surprising to see the difference in materials.

I still shoot my Glocks better than anything else though (at least at speed).

build quality is excellent IMO...
they must have done something right here ....to win 2009 handgun of the year by NRA....

shoots well, nice clusters, especially for a beginner like myself...

never will.

have to admire a manufacturer who says "excessive dirt" in their instruction manual when referring to cleaning (like they don't foresee it having issues after taking a mud bath).
