Dude, that's bull**** and you know it. This thread was in specific response to my comments in the thread about SAS.

You've got an agenda.....just admit it. There's nothing wrong with having one.

Sean
Yup, even I saw through that one...

If the FJ had F & RIS, i would have not bought it

But i would without a doubt take 4 wheel long travel anyday over solid axles.. (i can dream, right?)

mmmm...
And I'd agree with you there....that would be cat's ass....but it ain't ever going to come from a factory that way.

Ford F-150 raptor in 2010 will be that kind of...

"SVT looked first at the F-150's underpinnings, and scrapped most stock suspension parts. The most change came up front, where SVT added unique upper- and lower A-arms, a new tie-rod, and new half-shaft joints. All four corners also benefit from the addition of internal-bypass Fox Racing Shox, which increase stiffness as the suspension compresses to keep the truck from bottoming out.

Unless you're really flying over some desert terrain, we doubt that'd happen. The front suspension has a whopping 11.2 inches of travel, while the rear suspension has 13.4 inches. Coupled with the standard 35-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, the package should be more than adept at tackling boulders or landing a stratospheric jump."

Doesn't the Nissan Armada have IRS? And tow alot too?
Actually....just looked this up as your question is valid.

Without the tow package (air bag leveling set up I'd assume) 6500 lbs. With it 9K.

Titan with solid axle rear....7200 without, 9200 with.

A lot more complexity with a tow package....more parts to break. More expense, but this is one example where you have a point.

That last part is utter marketing bull****. It will be an interesting vehicle to see....if it actually comes to fruition. I have a feeling if this bailout doesn't come through and the Big 3 are forced into a reconciliation.....their product lines are going to have to homogenize, which means scrapping speciality projects like this one.

JMO,
Sean

I got a good laugh from that part too.

They actually had one in this years baja 1000. Not sure who raced it and how they got it or even how it did, I'll have look it up and edit that in.

But I agree I highly doubt it will make it to the show room floors with how everything looks right now.

Re: Independent REAR suspension

I think the F-150 is the only thing that is selling for FORD right now, lol

Re: Independent REAR suspension

here is a link to there race recap, its long so if you want the short of it, it got 3rd in class (class 8) with a time of 25:30 hours. Quick little comment, that is really good since it should really be in the stock full class, class 8 is almost a TT.

mmmm...
That would be so cool. LT mains and secondary shocks on each corner

I have to do something with my back end. If it floated like my LT front end, it would be sweeeet

Stock IFS or IRS, not so good I'd only want a stock IRS so that TotalChaos could easily replace it
