Does anyone know of a someone who painted the blaked out items white instead of black?
What program would be better to use PaintShop Pro or Photoshop to use a picture of my fj and pre paint the items

Re: Blacked Out Items Painted White

The only thing I've ever heard of is people painting the bezel white to match the roof. I think that it would be cool if you did this. Proably be one of a kind with a white out. The one thing that I like whited out the most are the OEM steelies. Just remember that this is your truck so make it your own. Also, I would probably use photoshop. But that's just because I am more familiar with that program. But they will probably turn out the same. Good luck and make a thread if you choose to do this mod!

Re: Blacked Out Items Painted White

Duplicolor arctic white is almost a perfect match to the roof, but we went with rust oleum for plastic. it's a shade whiter, but it wont chip off as easily.

Re: Blacked Out Items Painted White

personally, I like the look of a blackout ALOT more, I just did it and it looks amazing! I do have black rims too, I think the black just makes it look badazz! I personally don't like the look of the white-outs that much, but its your truck, do whatever you like!

Sorry for the newby question, but when referring to an FJ, what is the bezel? I'm only familiar with that term when talking about a compass. I tried to spot the other whited out part so I'd know, but didn't see it.

The silver piece around the grille and headlights, that has the TOYOTA inside of it

Re: Blacked Out Items Painted White

We whites out virtually everything that was once silver on our TRD, inside & out. The bumper wings got blacked out, but we LOVE the white look.

The mirrors have been touched up once, and will eventually need to be professionally done due to rock chips. Other than that everything looks great.
