Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

What kind do you have & are you happy w/them? I'm leaning towards the in channel ones because I think they look better and I don't like the idea of taping the other type to the tape trim on the window frame. My concern is how well does the window seal against the plastic of the vent instead of sealing in the felt groove like it's supposed to. I hate listening to air noise when windows are closed if there isn't a good seal.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

I have the Wade stick on. I bought them when they first came out for $29.00. Put about 2,500 miles on them so far about 1,000 miles on the interstate and I like them alot. I had the channel one on my Tacoma and they eventually started slipping and wobbling in the wind. Took them off and bought stick on one for the Tacoma. They have been on it for over 45,000 miles and no problems.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

I have the in-channel Lund ones. They do make some wind noise with the windows up, but it's because I have more stuff hanging off the exterior of the FJ. The seals don't seem to be leaking air around the seals. The wind noise with the window down is GREATLY reduced. I am happy

had factory stick ons on a honda, the driver side leaked in 24 months the passenger side held in there. Could not find an option stick-um strip to re-apply the driver side door visor. But during that time they worked great commuter highway miles.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

We put on the Wades, they help keep the rain out, wind noise with the windows up is minimal, wind noise and turbulence with the windows more than 2" down is pretty much the same as before. Oh well $30 would have bought a nice bottle of tequila and then I wouldn't care.

We have the AVS in-channel. I use nothing but in channel and have never had one come loose.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

I have the Wade stick on. Great! Only use the stick ons on my vehicles. At 37years old that's quite a few 100,000 miles I guess. Never had a problem with leaks losing the seal. I have had them on my 96 MC from day one. They are still just a stuck as in the beginning.

Happy hunting.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

In channel AVS which is Lund by the way.
More info here on my build-up page and my website.

FJ Cruiser Modifications

They seal perfectly, and took about 10 minutes to install total.
Where to buy them is also in my build-up thread and on my website.

Re: Who likes their vent visors and what kind are they?

After much research, i have decided the weathertech vent visors are the way to go, they slip in without 3m adhesive tape inside the window channels. They just now are available for the FJ Cruiser. Should have mine in 6 days. If you need to remove them, its a snap. Also they are engineered in Germany. I looked at AVS but heard of too may issues with these falling out or wind seal noises.
