Offroad lights mounted on stock FJ

First and foremost I'd like to thank FJ Dragon for his intitial write up on "homemade Foglight Brackets" Primarily beacause I started with his bracket setup and modified it a bit for my purposes. So hats off Dragon, thanks a ton. I'd also like to thank "Mo" for his write up on installing his Hella's and switch!

Here is the grill removed and my brackets mounted. I used the same riser measurements as Dragon, but added a inch in height. Next came a cross bar to give me a little more width and then I continued with Dragons Measurments again and just bolted them further out to support larger offroad driving lights. I went with 6" Hella Black Magic's and I've got to say they are awesome.

Here they are installed.

A side view.

Front angle.

Relay mounted.

Inline Fuse

Firewall port.

Swith.

Now on.

Little darker out.

Night.

Here is the Diagram the best I could Corel Paint.

And I'll try to get a few when it gets darker if anyone wishes.

Oh and here's my mountain getaway ... 7 miles from MT. Mitchell and the reason for the lights.

Thanks again Dragon!!

........Dan

Looks really good. Really good!! Are you getting any vibration due to the bigger lights?

Re: Offroad lights mounted on stock FJ

A wee bit, but things aren't really tight yet either, because I haven't got the lights aimed perfectly. I also used 3/16" thick steel and read somewhere about some foam/rubber I could use to help with that. I think Adop (sp) mentioned it. But even a little loose they seem quite steady, not much shake at all.

Nice install and very clean looking too. Good job! I like those black magics, do they come with any type of stone guard or cover?

Great install AND pics!

Do you have any concerns about someone liking the hellas enough to yank them?
