Roof Blanks

So I have a rack. I may have to remove it so I can get the Fj into the garage after a lift.

Are the roof covers already there? I did have a car in England that the covers pushed in and slid out the way.

Or are they probably at the dealer/port wherever it got fitted?

Re: Roof Blanks

They are not hidden somewhere. They were taken off with the installation of the rack at port. TRDSource offers them for sale, I believe BTW.

Re: Roof Blanks

You would think Gulf states or one of the other port installers would get on the ball and sell these things on Ebay. Quick buck, saves throwing them out.

Re: Roof Blanks

Aset should have been put in each vehicle before it was delivered to the dealership. Leave the option with the purchaser rather than disposing of it in the trash can.

Contact your dealer they may be able to get them for you. One guy way back, I think, contacted the port and was able to get his.

Re: Roof Blanks

Just the plastic covers (not the shorter bolts) run $80 at your local dealer. You will definitely want to contact a sponsor site for a reasonable price.

Re: Roof Blanks

Thank you for the help! I ordered the set from the EBay seller, $20 delivered. Maybe after I install them I can post the whole sordid affair that led to my needing them. It involves ramps, a floor jack, crashing and screaming and the sickening crunch of plastic and aluminum...

Just wait until you start removing the roof rack. There will be more primal screaming, for sure!!

Re: Roof Blanks

I called the port for mine. Free.

Removing the rack was easy.
