Help! How to remove seats and not setoff air bags

I need the expertise of someone out there that has knowledge of seat removal without setting the air bags off. I know that there are sensors in the seats that let the bags know whether or not someone is in the seat. I also feel that other sensors might be present. I would like to remove the seat, leave the frame that it rests on and replace the seat with another seat utilizing the original mounting frame of the FJ. What I don't want to do is die of fright by setting the air bags off unexpectedly. when I finish, I would like to replace the sensor in the new seat with the sensor out of the FJ seats. Any thoughts, knowledge, experience out there that might be an aid? Thanks in advance for any help you might offer.

I have removed the seat connections to the airbags, it does not set off the airbags. I've done it with the key on and off. Not a problem.

I just had my driver seat out with no problems. Just had to unplug two harnesses.

I've also removed the seats - the driver's seat once, the passenger seat twice - and disconnected the plugs without the airbag going off.

Your airbag warning light will be on with the seat removed. I ignored it.

I had the passenger seat out for about a month during modifications.
