Need rear speaker action

A friend was telling me that the 4x4's are all pre-wired for all the extra's and you can purchase the factory modules which will plug right in.... Ive got a 2007 btw.

Anyone have any additional info on this?

I'd like to get the rear speakers, as its pretty lame without..
He was also telling me I should get the traction control button, and it was just a matter of pluggin that into the empty slot on the consol...

Yes, the wiring is in place for the rear speakers. Use the search thing. Key word:Stereo, then :ATRAC...

Rear speakers wires are there. just need to plug them in..

As for A-trac
original post here: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...ighlight=atrac

......You cannot add A-TRAC to an FJ Cruiser that did not come from the factory with the locking rear differential.

Don't worry about Aggie...he's been itching to flame someone all day today!!

Welcome to the forum!!! I hope you got the answers to your questions. If you learn to use the search function, you will get most of your answers without getting flamed...and btw, we ALL have 2007 models. There were no 2006 and the 2008's are not out yet.

Re: Need rear speaker action

haha, thanks...
Yea, the 2007 was more me having a '2007' for two days now than anything else :-)

I searched the hell out of it, and yea i came across the threads. There are about 4 threads 12+ pages each..... and as many people said about the A-Trac install, it took them hours in reading and 5mins to install.

There should be a thread just for install info so that a moderator could move a single thread post, once answered fully, to a specified topic....

That would certainly help all the way around....

Im still looking for the info on the rear speakers though.....

Re: Need rear speaker action

What else do you need to know? I can tell you that if you pop off the blank panels on the d pillars and look down, you will see the connectors for the rear speakers. You will need to buy new speaker panels (our supporting vendors like TRDSource.com carry these) to replace the blanks. You can also buy the connectors from crutchfield so that you use crimp connectors or solder your wires from crutchfield to your 3.5in speakers and then just plug them in to the connectors. You will also need some plastic spacers to keep the magnets off the vehicle body. It's pretty simple. If you had the rear speakers, they would have been crappy 2.6in speakers like the ones in the dash. I will likely be adding new 3.5in Infinity Reference speakers (like I put in my dash) in the rear. I was considering trying to make my own covers so I did not HAVE to buy anything else. Let me know if you need any other info.

Go to the Stereo forum, and do a search for articles STARTED by me. I posted 4 FAQs about the audio system about a month ago. One is sticky'd, the other three are not.
