Arrow How to remove the factory front bumper end caps...

.
.

I will take more pictures later but, here are some that will assist you in removing the factory front bumper end caps.
.
.

The factory bumper end cap has already been removed in this photo. There are seven bolt that hold on the plastic cover shown in the picture above. The top portion of this cover is held by special fasterns which you do not need to remove. In fact, I would not recommend removing these as they are special fasterns that appear to take a special tool to remove and perhaps reinstall. Removing the bolts as decribed will allow to gently pull back the cover out of the way to better access the 6 white plastic retainer clips holding on the factory bumpe end cap.

In the photo above you can see that there are two different types of fasteners. (The fly seemed to be curious as to what I was doing)

Number 1, or the plastic white fasteners are locked in place by the small plastic piece protruding upward on the top side of the retaining clip. You have to depress this plastic protrusion with a stubby flat blade screw driver, or as I did, with a pair of needle nosed pliers while pulling it downward past the retaining clips slot. No easy task. The clips do not want to slide down with pressure being exerted on the plastic protrusion of the fastener.

There are five fasteners similar to the one labeled Number 2 in the photo. I found that using a stubby flat blade screw driver worked well to release them because of the confined space you have in which to work.

For all of your work, this is how it looks when you finally get the factory front bumper end cap removed.

Piece of cake really.

I haven't looked into the removal of the back bumper yet but, it looks to me off hand like it may require the use of a chainsaw to remove it.

Re: How to remove the factory front bumper end caps...

I'm pretty sure the bumber itself needs to come off for the rear cap removal....
