Re: Complete Roof Rack Comparison

Works great, spoke w/ Doug there & went with the taller front springs so that it would accomidate a front bumper/winch, but also ended up going w/ the taller rear springs. sitting pretty level now, might have to add a small spacer down the road on the front if I want it level w/ bumper/winch. That's probably off a while, have to do rack first. Drives great though, on & off road. Do seem to lose a little pep w/ the bigger tires.

Re: Complete Roof Rack Comparison

Added following info to comparison:
About Short Arb Per Strap22 at trdparts4u on 1/30/06 "Ok we have our first order at ARB (5) and we can start shipping as soon as the fit kits arrive this week. We have another 10 due in by mid Feb. There are only (3) other racks in the States at this time and they are waiting on the fit kits too. I will post up as soon as they are available. Here is the picture."

Re: Complete Roof Rack Comparison

I like the design and price of the ARB, but I don't like the cheesy finish on the rack. I wonder if anything can be done with that?

To me it looks like it's made of plastic. Just don't care for the finish, that's all.

Re: Complete Roof Rack Comparison

The ARB racks are powdercoated with a dark gray finish. I've seen the full length one in person and it is solid.

Re: Complete Roof Rack Comparison

I like the Gobi Stealth, and I'm interested to know more about comments made above regarding the mounting of the Gobi vs. the OEM rack. So, the Gobi does NOT mount in the OEM holes? And, if not, how does one go about ensuring that the OEM bolt 'clips' don't get lost inside the headliner?? Kind of disappointing info as I had my eye on the Gobi Stealth, but good to know nonetheless!
