Re: The Painted Bezel Thread

has anyone with a silver FJ painted their bezel black? i really like the look of the white, but i don't think it would look good on the silver for some reason.

Dragon, did you remove the mirrors and door handles as well or tape them off?? both seem much more complicated then the grill bezel
The mirrors and handles I masked. It was a bit tedious to mask thoroughly, but the end result was worth it to me. I just didn't like the plastic chrome look, but that is just my opinion.

The only thing that has been "nicked" is the skid plate (a lot) and the center, lower part of the bumper cover. Pushing through some frozen drifts and then some icebergs at the Chicago meet, I had to do a bit of touch up. Of course, I would have had to have done it in silver anyway, I think

I didn't want to mention names

If you have the money, take it somewhere. That way you have someone to blame if it's not perfect

Thanks Dragon!

I like the look of that. Not sure if I'd rather have the bezel be more of a glossy black, kinda like graham's bezel is a glossy white. Flat black is always a safe bet though. Hmm, decisions decisions

Very true....I am gonna call a few paint shops around here and get some quotes. I want to try to match the mirrors and bezel to my wheels

Not to be off topic or anything, but what tires/wheel combo are you running. What lift do you have too?

I like the looks of it, nice job!
