Grill Guard or Bull Bar?

I am trying to decide if I should get a grill guard or a bull bar! I want to mount some driving lights on which ever one I decide to go with, but I do not want to blind oncoming drivers on the road at night. I realize that the lights can be aimed, but I thought the bull bar would be the better choice, since the lights are much lower than those on a grill guard.

Also, I do not want to interfer with the airbag deployment, and I want to cause the least amount of damage to my FJ in the event of a front-end collision. Any opinions or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Grill Guard or Bull Bar?

The other day I saw a Rav4 with a grill guard that took a hit,
little to no damage on the front, but the grill over the headlights was pushed back and dented the hood and quarter panel.
It's going to be a bull bar for me.

Re: Grill Guard or Bull Bar?

I'm going to get this Bull Bar in the spring..

4x4 Accessories | Truck Accessories | Jeep Accessories. It is made by Rampage products in Lake Elsinore Ca. They call it the "Dakar bar"
