Sports Pedal Installation

I purchased the sport pedals for the AT transmission, I've spent the last hour trying to get the accelerator pedal on, with no luck(And I haven't even messed with the brake pedal yet!) I'm following the instructions, using soapy water for lubrication etc. Any tips on getting this sucker on?

Re: Sports Pedal Installation

I bought the same ones. The Toyota dealer told me they were very hard to get on. One trick was to heat up the rubber with a heat gun or hair dryer. I have not installed mine yet.

Made by Autobahn Kraftworks, Indeed they slip over the current footpedals using rubber-lips that you must fit around each side of the pedal.
Note: On the brake pedal, you take the factory installed rubber cover off, the accelerator's however is glued to the pedal. Any information/tips are much appreciated!

Re: Sports Pedal Installation

You know, I tried ***** footing around with a prying screwdriver and such ... then ... I went and drank a forty!! Upon my return .. I learned if I got one edge on, then pulled very hard the opposite way, the opposing side would fill into place - I was clawing in there with my fingers too. You just have to get rowdy with those things and forget being polite!!

I know right now I could put on a set in less than three minutes.

Re: Sports Pedal Installation

I've seen pics of these, but that's it.

Are they rubber backed metal with rubber nipples or is the silver some kind of plastic?

Oh, and yeah, beer, it's what's for dinner.

I installed the exact same pedals on mine. The brake cover comes right off, then the new pedal goes in its place. easy install. The gas pedal is more difficult. Use lots of soapy water on inside of the new cover. leave the old
cover on because the new one goes over it. Start at the top and work down the sides, then the bottom. It is a real pain but with the help of a stubby flat head screwdriver it will eventually slide on. Took about 20 min just on the gas pedal. Good luck.
