Requested HID Pics

Here are the pics you all requested. I did turn off the DRL's, they are a pain in the ass to have IMO. Sorry night time pics didn't turn out so well. Also do disconnect the DRL's because they run with less power and cause HID's to flicker.

Cool, I mean bright! Do you have a parts list and install breakdown? I'd like to see what was involved.

Thanks! Good Job!

I went online and did some research Philips, PIAA and there is some cheaper brands. The kit is a H4 setup and you get a wiring harness, 2 ballasts and two bulbs. The harness plugs in in about 10 mins to + terminal and ground which Toyota made a ton of accessable. Two bulbs and 2 ballasts plug right in. The whole process took me about 1hr after tucking all the wires nice and neat. However I am not a electrician so my brother wired the hi-beams for me, but to tell the truth the only time I use them is when someone flashes me which is alot less than they did with factory lights in. I recommend paying the cash though because the kit that is under $200 is alright, pay the extra $200 and go quality, you will be saticfied. If you want great quality go PIAA, it's on there website @ $855. Good luck.

Re: Requested HID Pics

spumoni707 how did you get the high beams to work. I too have an HID kit for my FJ but I didn't install it yet because it doesn't have high beams. I prob. have the same one as you. also where are the adjusting screws for the headlight? pretty sure i'm gonna have to aim it down because my Fj's lifted.

My brother did it, my harness had some extra wires that they were for and he added one or two more wires. The lows use two wires in the plug and the third goes into each plug for the highs, to tell the truth the highs are all right but not all that. I read before that some people had a hard time adjusting the lights but I believe there is a post here somewhere on how to, mine is not lifted yet so I haven't cared too much.

Re: Requested HID Pics

I installed my HID's yesterday (hi+low 6k kit). It took me a little longer than an hour, but I'm thrilled to death with the results.

Only thing I'm not satisfied with is the arrangement/placement of the considerable additional wiring components.

Where exactly did you guys mount your ballasts? relays? What efforts did you make to re-seal the rubber cap over the back of the headlamp housing?
any concerns over these parts getting wet inside the engine bay?
I'd really love to see some pics of how you guys arranged this stuff. I want it to look clean, and not like it was installed by a rank amateur..(although I am)
