Dog Crates

I have two 65-70lbs dogs that I like to travel with.

Anyone know if two 500 size crates fit in the back?

Any pics of FJ set-ups for dog crates/etc?

Re: Dog Crates

I can't help you there too much. I only have one dog and I went with a large folding fabric crate. If the dogs get along pretty well, you could just put up a bar to block them from coming forward and then when outside open up the folding crates. It worked out much better than I thought it would. My dog hasn't tried to chew threw or destroy it and it sure is lighter and easier to pack. Just a thought even though it doesn't directly address your question. I could try and fit his normal large crate that I keep him sometimes in the house and see if two of them might fit.

Re: Dog Crates

I have a large crate that I put my lab in sometimes and it fits in the back with the rear seats up ok. I don't think two smaller crates would fit.

Re: Dog Crates

Not sure what the dimensions of your crates are, but my large dog crate is
41"L x 27"W x 30" high. Fits in the back of the FJ with the rear seat in the up position. I only transport our choc lab in it if we're taking long trips to the hunting grounds in Eastern WA. Otherwise, she's a free roamer in the back end.
