Billet Aluminum Door Sill Protectors FJ Cruiser

Hey Folks,

I have noticed that my door sills are taking a beating. Part of this was because of my walking area cast that nicked things up pretty good. Has anyone purchased the "Billet Aluminum Door Sill Protectors" or other type of sill protectors? If so, how do you like them? Are they effective?

Thanks,

Jim

I got them. I like them myself. With all the snow, ice, and salt I deal with in NH, and my travels I didn't trust the rubber stuff. EASY to install, but the temp has to be right. Hair dryer works good if you don't have a garage. I like them, and for the money I think it adds a nice look....but I am like that.

Sounds very cool. I am trying to figure if this is "bling" or something useful. Hopefully it can be both.

I havent really read up on it, but I assume you would remove the rubber strip and then apply these, right? If so, do they cover more acreage then the rubber strip?

Thanks

Yeah. You will remove the rubber and actually have to life the panels a little. They pop right out and back in. Instructions are good. I think it's both. Looks more tough to me than bling. Plus I think it helps protect the door sills. Really it comes down to what you want, it's your rig. I figured they were cheap enough, discount if you order them from TRD

I figured it was worth the risk. For me it worked out well. I really like them.
