Whats the stock bulb type/size. I was thinking that i would just get some LED bulbs from superbrightleds if there's enough room.
I was wondering the same....i am about to do this but i will more than likely just put stock ones back in there. If they have these in the silver star i may do that.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

I just took off the mirrors, piece of cake.

I replaced the bulbs with some amber 194's but I didn't like the light output, even with taking out the blue lenses.

It's still too "pale" of an amber color...I'll order some amber led's soon.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

Thanks for info, took me about 45 minutes to do the two mirrors. Probably should have waited for warmer weather -5 celsius.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

Wasn`t that bad. I pushed the mirror to the inside and stuck screw driver in the slot at the bottom pulled out a little and it opened right up. I had it changed in no time. Now what kind of bulbs cant you put in there LED? I wasn`t sure i didn`t want to take the chance in damaging anything.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

Just changed my bulb this way with a pair of chopsticks....took about 10 minutes after about 3 failed attempts at removing the glass out of fear of breaking it ha ha.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

Does anyone have pictures that could go with these instructions. I haven't been able to locate any thread with a couple of good picitures showing just exactly how to do this mod.

Thank you in advance.

Re: quick mirror light bulb change

These work very well. The 5W LEDs tend to be much brighter than the 5W 194 lights.

Make sure the mirror is warmed up, as the plastic clips are very brittle when cold and will snap off. A little silicon spray on the clips also helps.
