Help>Wiring for AUX Lights

I know there are two blanks(One in the Manual Trans) to the left of the steering column for AUX Lighting. Can someone who has already done a fog light or roof rack mount lightbar confirm if there is any wiring for either of those items behind the blank. It would be helpful to know before I dig in tomorrow with my roofrack light bar w/ OEM Taco switches. Got the switches through the dealership but no wiring or connector for the pins to the switch. I'm putting four PIAA 520 SMR XT's on a Real Wheels bar. I've studied existing threads but nothing with info to my question. Just like to study before the exam tomorrow. I like to be prepped to avoid unecessary foul language and tool throwing!

Re: Help>Wiring for AUX Lights

This might help.... All the info you need, and then some!!!

Toyota FJ Cruiser: Resources & Documentation Archive

PS Only one bay to the left of the steering wheel is for lights. The other is for the "Press in the Clutch to start override switch." I too am a AT driver and when I got in a MT I saw the button.

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Re: Help>Wiring for AUX Lights

To cut to the chase, you will have to run your own wire. However, Toyota did give us several options in the fuse box. Take your time and you will be fine. BTW, the only wiring you will find behind a "blank" in the main bank is the harness for the A-trac if you didn't get that option.

Re: Help>Wiring for AUX Lights

run your own wire, you will have to, but use a add a circuit on the fuse box, makes things much easier!!!! check out my thread, it may help a little:
Piaa installed on bumper

you may have to extend the wires, i am not sure that they could make it from the engine bay to the roof.

Re: Help>Wiring for AUX Lights

While installing my light bar there is a connection for "Offroad Lights" behind the inside A piller. Found this reference on the Toyota schematics. It is useless unless Toyota comes out with something to plug in there and you still have to get the wires from the roof to the A pillar. Thanks to you fellows who chimed in all went well today. I'll be completing wiring tomorrow.

How'd your wiring go? Did you take some pics for those of us who have not done it yet?

I just got the PT297-35061 OEM front bumper mounted off road lights and it looks to be a very clean install. Part of it plugs into the existing harness and fuse block.

I also see from the schematic that the roof mounted lights are an option but I guess that is not available yet.
