Question (Updated - 525's?) Which PIAA's Are Better?

Hi again,

So I am looking at the 525's but can't really tell the difference between them.

CLEAR HIGH & PLASMA ION LOW or PLASMA ION HIGH & LOW

Visually, what is the difference when lights are on?

I got one shot at this since, so want to make sure.

Hi guys!

With the $$ liberated back from the gov't, it is time to give Opus some better vision.

I've done a lot of research between the web and this forum and found some great information on Aux lights; I'm sold on PIAA's but not sure which to go with.

It is a choice between the 525's and 580's. I like both, but would like to know from the experts (y'all) which would be a better investment.

These will be brush guard mounted (Toyota OEM) and if Matt comes through, with the Toyota Aux light switch.

Thanks!

The 580's are great. I've had many lights in my life and they are the brightest I have ever had. You cannot go wrong with them. They are BRIGHT!

Re: Which PIAA's Are Better?

Well, I have the 580's. I chose them since they have a brighter bulb that has a white to blue tint. PIAA claims the 580 85watt bulb performs equal to a 135 watt bulb. The 520's have their previous generation bulb that is 85W
If you think you will use them a lot, I would suggest the higher priced 580's. It is easy for me to spend your money, of course.
I am very pleased with my 580's

Whiter with a blue tint and more intense(brighter) with the 580's
If you have seen both and can't tell the difference, get the 525's, they are cheaper. I did not do a side by side review-I just reviewed the web site. They may have simply taken my money if both are the same

Re: Which PIAA's Are Better?

I was not happy with the light output of the Plasma Ions. I did not have the 525's, but the Plama Ion that I had put out a bit of a yellowish hue, and like Razor J said, the 580 Xtra White is a bright white light.

Re: Which PIAA's Are Better?

exactly, I have the 525's. i have the clear, plasma combo and am very happy with them. I needed fog and high beam. the low/fog beam is plasma yellow, it cuts better thru fog and crap. The high beams are very bright, and white. honestly i never even considered the plasma ion for both beams. The install was very easy. I also have to admit that I like the little led in the light too, looks pretty cool without being ghetto or bling.
