I'm Afraid I might get pulled over! PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge in Mirrors!

I'm Afraid I might get pulled over! PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge in Mirrors!

Just put in the PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge bulbs in my side mirrors thinking they would be pretty white - THEY ARE BLUE!!!!

I am afraid I could get pulled over....

Anyone else install the PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge Bulbs in their mirrors? and what is your opinion about them, their color, etc.....

PIAA says they are white with a "cast of blue". Maybe it has something to do with the reflector insode the FJ mirrors? Or are the PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge bulbs NOT BLUE?

thanks, rp

I have the 168 LED's which are also blue tinted. No problems thus far.

I've had them in my fj for about 4-5 months with a full tint on the front windows. No problems thus far.

No, I quit after the headlights, backup lights and dome lights.

I do think you're right and the plastic in the mirrors is playing a part. My headlights are white, the backup lights are white, but the dome lights have a decided blue cast to them. It has something to do with the plastic in the dome lights, as it's less blue with the covers off. Anyway, at first the blue cast of the dome lights bothered me, but they are brighter... and that's what I wanted in the cargo area. The FJ's interior doesn't reflect much light at night, so I decided to stay with it. After a day or two it quit bothering me and I have learned to appreciate the uniqness of it.

Now forward facing mirrors are another thing. I suppose it depends on where you live, but if it's a state that is less forgiving, you may need to do something. In retrospect, I think the plain white, without the blue would probably be a better choice for the mirrors (and the dome lights).

I live in the great state of VA where everything seems to be illegal. I've had them on for probably 3 months with no problems.

Don't worry, it's not paranoia if they really are after you...

Re: I'm Afraid I might get pulled over! PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge in Mirrors!

I think they look kind of cool - but for me I think plain white for the mirrors
looks better.... (i just put the stock bulbs back in the mirrors)

I just dont like the blue mirror lights.....

and more importantly for myself is that I dont feel they match the PIAA H4
replacement headlights I put in. I thought it would be a better match color wise....

Even with my stock white mirror bulbs they still dont "match" the PIAA H4 XTREME WHITE headlights.....

I am trying to get things to match and it's not working the way I expected! : (

Maybe the PIAA white LED's would match the H4's better?

Re: I'm Afraid I might get pulled over! PIAA 168 "Xtreme White" Wedge in Mirrors!

agree with you 100%!

I also have the license plate lights too.... and think they are ok - not too blue... pretty clear looking....

I am just getting used to the domes now.... and I do think it's an improvement.... although it takes some getting used too....

In all honesty I am not really sure if the PIAA H4 headlights are infact "brighter" than the stock FJ lights.

I almost feel the stocks were "brighter" and lit things up better.

*Do you think the stock FJ lights are brighter than the PIAA Xtreme white H4's?
