Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

I replaced my Toyota FJ Cruiser windshield last month up here in Vancouver, BC, Canada and it cost $600 including labour, windshield and parts/urethane. Insurance paid for $400 of that.

This is an OEM windshield.

I have no idea why it costs so much down south in the US of A.

Anyways, email sent.

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

I have a complaint of a different nature - I sent my email days ago and never got the reply instructing me to file a complaint with the NHTSA - is it possible he is not receiving all the emails or what?

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

Some people sent the emails to me by mistake instead of Ross and I forwarded them to Ross. For that reason the responses from Ross came back to me. I tried to forward those responses back to the appropriate person but maybe my email had a problem. I am not sure if you were one of those people. Ross stated that he had only received approximately 51 complaints so far. The more he gets that beeter it looks on camera when he confronts Toyota. Lets see if we can get the complaint total to at least 100. Once again please send your complaints to Ross at rmclaughlin@wjla.com and please file a complaint with NHTSA using the link below. I filed a second complaint with NHTSA because I just had another windshield break after just 8 day of having it installed.

Thanks again,
Ron

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

I have the problem solved! Alls you have to do is move to Florida. Insurance (full coverage) covers windshield replacement with no deductable and no rate increase. While Florida is getting more over crowded by the day and it drives me crazy I would like to personally invite everyone on this forum to move on down. At least I will get my wave reciprocated by over 10K different owners instead of the 5% I get now (moms takin the kids around mostly). K

P.S. I did send the e-mail and fill out the form online in hopes of helping all other FJ owners out (at a minimum hopefully Toyota will look into it for future models). If your dude wants to do the replacement in the sunshine State have him conact me, although I am waiting for a high quality replacement (I.E. not OEM perhaps PPG or goofy name Co that does land rover).

While mine has not broken yet, by 1000 miles I have so many pits and chips. If I'm driving into the sun, it looks like the window is covered in bugs. Unfortunately, they don't come off because they're all pits...

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

Just so you guys know. Ross called me on Friday and gave me a # for a attorney he wants me to talk to in San Ramon CA and then call him back on what the conversion consisted of.It sounds like a class action law suit in the making.I will have my wife call tomorrow and post the details.

Please keep sending those emails to Ross McLaughlin at rmclaughlin@wjla.com and also log a complaint with the Office of Defect Investigation at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
