E mail AND complaint sent.
Maybe it's time for a new poll labeled differently so that people who voted "no problems" can update their response.
If I built a website that people could post and then update, would that be helpful ?

If someone is in IT and already has something like that built, by all means post it !!

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

I was asked to send the dude an email, so I did. I said I knew what I was in for when buying a vehicle with a window like a jeep. I also told him my story which was that this windshield stopped a flying brick from hitting my face while doing 70+ down the freeway. I was very impressed by the strength of it as I have seen windshields shatter by just a little stone. I also explained that the cost and the ordeal of swapping out a windshield is unexceptable. It should be easier on these professsionals having to work with this issue and it should be a butt load cheaper.

I'm glad that 7 on your side is getting involved. Not all news that is worthy to be aired need be tragic or involve death. This is a safety issue and not a cosmetic one. And for your information, 7 On Your Side is a consumer advocacy investigative department of WJLA. If you haven't seen the broadcast, then you wouldn't know...I don't fault you for this.
I can rant... I have paid for the new window. But I do thank Toyota for making my factory windshield as strong as they did. If you aren't aware of my situation, it stopped a brick from coming through the window while I was moving over 70 mph.

I believe we should include information such as your into the equation. My own personal experience with the windhshield is not that it isn't strong, but that it cracks easily and is really expensive to replace....

FJ Jim however had a big piece of snow fall off of a stop light onto his windshield, and it broke through the windshield and into his cab....

So there are two sides of the equation.

Re: 7 On Your Side Wants Emails Re: Windshield Problems

well, mine was warantied, but it was because it was foggy, not cracked.

the problem that i am having is that during replacement a few months ago, the a-pillar covers were damaged...

they ordered new ones, supposed to come pre-painted.

came flat black, now a few months later, they finally were painted and cured, were installed on last friday, paint looks like crap, doesn't match, can see sand marks through the paint, a whole bunch o fish eye and dirt in the clear coat...

so im not really sure if i should send this dude an e-mail.

thx for the im tho.

if anything, this may at leasg get toyota to look at making the replacements thicker, or out of a more durable or stronger material...
