TRD Question

Does the TRD AT come with different shifter knobs than the regular FJ (both tranny & transfer case knobs)? IF SO, could you post a pic so I can confront my dealer!!!

Also, did every TRD owner get a toy FJ?!!

Re: TRD Question

Tell your dealer to give you a Tundra shifter, it fits in the FJ fine.

Here is mine

4X4 shifter is the same.

Re: TRD Question

not sure about the knobs...but my knobs are silver with grey rubber...probably the same.

as far as the FJ model goes, i called the 1-800 number last month and the person i spoke with said that the TRD model promotion will not start until June.

Re: TRD Question

They are the same knobs, there are some aftermarket ones.

I received a blk diamond w/white top die cast. The TRD owners are to receive a special die cast to ship out in June, rumored to be a BAJA edition.

Re: TRD Question

From everything I had, the knobs are the same. The only TRD special knobs were on the MT.

Re: TRD Question

Both great questions.
I have the same curiosity.

I don't have the window sticker in front of me. But I did confront my dealer about an entry in the TRD description that said something like "metalic shift handles" or some such thing. Mine seemed to look just like all the others I have seen. Except a manual TRD I drove in Nashville. It definitely had metallic shift knobs. Different than others I have seen. My dealer had no clue.

And is there anything I need to do to get a TRD die cast? Or will one just show up?

Re: TRD Question

Well, looks like my dealer didn't pull a switch. When the truck was delivered, it had no knobs and I *****ed and they came out 10 minutes later with them! Just sloppy prep...they probably just took the plastic off of everything and gave it to me! Just as well...it only had 3 miles on the odometer. Since I was waiting on delivery, I told the saleman it better not have more than 5 miles on it since I knew the owner was a big FJ fan and figured he'd take it out for the weekend before delivery!
