Re: Tire Cover Mod

well, guess what i recruited my sig. other to do yesterday? its gotta dry 24 hours (well, its recommended anyway) before putting it back on the spare tire.. we used a white plastic primer first, then did 2 coats of white on the tread (notice- we reversed Terahex's pattern, instead we did the actual 'tread indentations'), and then 2 coats of the sunburst yellow (pretty damn close match to the SF).
i can't wait to put it on tomorrow or Sunday!

thanks! i'm very meticulous at stuff like this so i told the hubby if it wasn't perfect (or i didn't like it) that he could spray it back to black for some reason, he gave me one of those looks and i shut up real quick!
nah, i think he did a great job... i'll post pics up when we put it back on... although i could do it now while hubby is at work but i'd be sleeping on the couch tonight if i did

my bro can do one up for you in like 5 minutes.... i'll have him do one with a BC FJ and different color tire treads (have any recommendations?)...

as for the BC in a rattle can, i'm not so sure. what you could do, if you had a small paint sprayer, is buy a couple bottles of touch-up paint and use that paint to do a perfect color match...

Just bought one bottle of touch up for all the chips next to the windshield. They are about $11 a piece with tax. No sprayer here. I am going to check the hardware stores and see how close I can get to the BC.
