Thumbs up A must for electronic add-ons!! >>>

A friend and car-electrics guru pointed me to this guy who makes specialty fuses with fold out tabs for tapping into 12v power. I did this (ok, my friend did it) with my last car and thought the guy didn't make it for the FJ's mini fuses. Turns out HE DOES!!!

Check it out: The Access

For hardwiring, these things ROCK! Easy to setup and use. We hardwired my old Passport with no problem.

I do not own or have part in this product or company. It is simply the coolest thing for hardwiring components to your car.

I just ordered two sets of the multi-amp packs.

Hope someone else finds this useful.

EDIT: Received my order. Very cool. See page two!

I just ordered two sets of the multi-amp packs. If I have extras after I do my GPS hardwire, I'll post them. And....post photos of the installation.

Re: A must for electronic add-ons!! >>>

Good idea, but for those planning to add alot of accessories, I would suggest thinking about a complete fuse box instead of add-ons.

They work fine, but you might stress part of the electrical system by doubling up on fuses. A dedicated box would provide the right current to isolated loads.

I'm not an electrical guru...but I have rewired my Early Bronco from the ground up, and I understand how to overpower a circuit.

Re: A must for electronic add-ons!! >>>

Agreed. If you are adding numerous (meaning more than 2), a properly setup electrical system is key.

Re: A must for electronic add-ons!! >>>

If you are interested in adding several electrical circuits I would suggest checking into Painless Wiring or similar. You can purchase a stand alone fuse block that would not be integrated to the main electrical system of the FJ thus isolating any stock wiring from damage. Just one man's opinion.....
