Stock you should be ok. With a lift and 33" tires I was recently scouring Chicago for a 7' high parking garage

...but stock you should be fine. ...even with a rack.

One of the users at Ih8mud came up with 77" 7/8. He spent a while measuring.

Yeah 86" does seem way high. I had figured in the 76-79" range.

The other posts I read had it at 78-79".

hope that helps. if you have a rack, it may be tight for 6'6" garage..

Re: height

I have a stock rack with my FJ and sometimes the vehicle just about just makes it through 6'6" garage---meaning sometimes i feel it bumps the rack softly.

Re: height

Stock FJ with roof rack = 77 3/4". I just measured my wife's tonight. We have a 79" garage opening - talk about cutting it close! Yikes!!!
