Does anyone know a source that has these in stock?

Re: Looking for Manik tail light guards

I'm currently shopping for an FJ and the manik light guards are definitely on the list of mods... no idea how to get 'em though. It would be great to find a source or a decent alternative, anybody know of a product out there with similar features, quality, etc.?

Re: Looking for Manik tail light guards

The Toyota dealer here in Calgary got tail light guards from Aries Automotive in Georgia. They are black or chrome. It took about 1.5 hrs to install. The hardest part is removing the rear tailights, you need a 10mm deep socket to reach the nuts but there isn't enough room to slide a deep socket on the nuts. I ended up using a 10mm wrench and sliding on a normal socket and turning it with my hand.

Re: Looking for Manik tail light guards

I do want the Manik or at least the same strength guard. All the other types that I have seen look like a lighter guard. If I am going to spend several hours installing them, I only want to do this once....

They were a pain to install, you better read a thread on how to, just so you know , it involves removing the subwoofer box, and the inside plastic, without a 10mm deep socket its impossible.

Manik is the strongest and best built with no comparison, go with manik.

I make the rounds of calls about every 2 weeks looking for the Manik light guards. Carolina Classic Trucks takes the call and always tries to sell me another brand and say they are as good as Manik.

I tell them I would rather wait. Last week they said they will have them in 2 weeks. They say that every 2 weeks.

I will have to be in Ouray without them.

Not sure if anyone realized this, but some of their (Carolina's) products are from this site RealWheels (you can even see their stamp on product pics). The gear is actually cheaper there, too.

Re: Looking for Manik tail light guards

Is there any other company that makes strong ones other than Manik? I don't want anything that's just cosmetic... it's seems really sad that they're so hard tocome by.
