'08 Side Visor install

Hello All,

I received my '08 side visors and put them on today. It was an easy install but there is a slight modification to the headliner. It actually works really well and is definitely worth the money.

Cheers,

Visor:

Clips that pass through the headliner:

I pressed the visor to indent the clips marks and proceeded to use a small screw driver to poke a hole in the headliner:

Here are the two holes:

Looks great! What are the clips for, and how is the color match?

Re: '08 Side Visor install

Color match is identical to the '07. The clips are built into the visor. The Visor has a lot of tension and though the screws will hold it fine at the corners it will not add support to the center. At least that is my guess of why the clips are there.

They are cheap, $27 a side, and cover really well. Give Matt a call at TRDSOURCE.COM

Re: '08 Side Visor install

I was skeptical at first about the fit and coverage since the '08 hadn't come out yet in Az for me to look at but as you can see in my first post both visors now cover you front to back.

Just remember that the bar of the visor goes above the handle. Once you get to opening and closing the visor to make room for the install you might forget the close position as I did. The visor also has a slight curve so when you put it away it curves with the headliner. Installing it the wrong way can give you more coverage though.

Without taking pictures the install can be done in 5 minutes on each side taking your time.

Here is the wrong way

I suppose you can just cut the clips off so you wont have to cut a hole in the headliner. It would still mount fine. The side scews are sturdy enough to hold the whole visor. I was considering this for a long time and decided to cut into the headliner. I figured it was there for a reason and the hole is small.
