Wow!!! Just installed the PIAA's, I will now also be replacing the lamps in my offroad lights to some similar PIAA's, very worthy of the $57 spent....

The lights have a base that glows in the dark. So after the lights turn off the base will continue to glow for a little while.

I was wondering if someone could do a basic quick comparison as to the cost of these various bulbs. I know some of these bulbs get close to upwards of $100 or so. I am not sure i want to spend quite that much money on bulbs.

No way! $100 is laughable.

I've seen the PIAAs (top notch in my opinion) for 52 or so, and the Silverstar Ultras for as little as $30 when on sale.

Automotive Lighting USA (google them), has a great selection, though they can get up to $70 for some bulbs, and not great ones either.

You don't always get what you pay for in this case but if you spend $40 on Ultras, or even $70 on PIAAs you will be pleased.

$100? Someone selling bulbs needs a serious reality check... or a... cough *smack* cough... nevermind.

Anyone have trouble with their Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's? Had mine on for approx. 4 months and they've both burned out. Does having the DRL feature negatively affect aftermarket bulb life? I've never had an aftermarket bulb burn out so quickly before.....

I was planning on switching to PIAA but thinking twice now if having DRL can shorten bulb life.

Kragen has the Silverstar Ultra 9003 (HB2) bulbs on sale with a $10 mail in rebate. (original price $49.00, Sale price $39.00, after mail in rebate $29.00)

On sale until mid march I believe...

can someone tell me the difference between the silverstar ultra su and the silverstar ultra hb2 I have a autozone that has the hb2 but not the su and the asking price for the hb2s are 45.00 for the set seems kinda high compared to what some of you have paid for them
