It may be interesting to find the full results of their test, with the scores on their scale for the competition. I haven't been able to yet. But if someone could we could use it to compare to FJOEL's findings. And if FJOEL's unbiased findings match the ones from Autoexpress, we could perhaps lend more credence to their coverage of bulbs he wasn't able to test.
Cheers,

Has anyone ordered from powerbulbs.com? And has anyone ordered the X-treme by Philips? It looks decent and comparable in price to others.

Ordered and Received the Amazon $20 SSU/9003 special over the weekend. I installed them and parked a another stock FJ next too mine, clearly whiter and brighter than stock, we'll see how long they last.
I have run the SilverStars and SilverStar Ultras in the past. I never liked the wet weather performance. Lots of glare when passing a semi in the rain. I also had the chance back in Dec. to drive with them in a heavy snow, and still lots of glare. Granted that these bulbs were not in my new FJ that I just got but I figure that the vehicle would not make that much of a difference.
I just upgraded the FJ to some Osram Sylvania 65/70 Hyper Ralley H4's. Man what a difference. I drive 1.5 hours a night, six days a week getting home from work, so I needed more light on the road. Huge difference over stock as well as the SilverStar Ultras I have in my other car. No heat problems and nobody has flashed me yet. These bulbs are rated as a Plus 100 and I believe I'm getting that much more light down the road. No blue tint on these bulbs but the light seems whiter than stock. High beam is much better than stock and doesn't leave a dull area in front of the FJ like the stock bulbs did. Overall they are well worth the $43.00 I paid.
I've used the Philips X-Treme Power H4 available from the UK. One bulb lasted about 8 hours. It was very bright while it lasted.
Their Vision Plus are very good blubs. There is only a hint of blue tinting on the bulbs.
I like the Silverstar Ultras, which I am using now, plus I can get locally. I hope these last at least a year.
I've had used PIAA SuperWhites a few years ago, and after 1 year, both bulbs had large burn blisters in the side of the glass, and were just about to blow. I've never seen another H4 blister before.
It would be a good idea to check the condition of your bulbs once a year, look for any blistering and graying (deposits) on the inside glass.

That's a great source of information.... I learned a ton on that site in short period of time. Go to the tech segments and read all 4 Bulb Articles sections. Wow... I had no idea. Basically all of this HID/hyperwhite stuff is absolute nonsense.
