Bud Built Skids Question. (Well, kinda)

Thinking of buying the full under body skid. Just currious to know from the people that may have one. If the weight of it caused a drop in MPG or if having less drag on the bottom of the FJ made up for the diffrents in MPG? This will be a future mod I plan to do.

With ALL of the weight I'm carrying (almost every possible skid, heavy ARB front bumper, winch, etc. and large tires with heavy WE wheels) I dropped about 2 mpg per the scanguage.

I've not noticed a differance. Even so, the peace of mind having the skids there is worth more than a few pennies worth of gas.

Re: Bud Built Skids Question. (Well, kinda)

Thanks Larry. That does not seem all that bad. I know your rig sounds pretty weighted down. Knowing that only 2mpg less for you. The skids seem like a drop on the bucket then. Thanks for the help.

Figure on permanently adding the weight of one of your buddies to the truck. I doubt you'll notice it much, if at all.
