Thumbs down Thumbs Down to Rockblocker

I ordered the light protection kit last week and received it this past Saturday. Much to my surprise, no instructions included in the package, just my kit and the invoice. So after doing some research, I figured out that Rockblocker had instructions on their site which specify a dry install. Although after a google search of various forums, I found additional directions ranging from a wet install with water, a wet install with water & alcohol mixture, or a wet install with a water & soap mixture. Not knowing what to do, I figured the best course of action was to go with the directions directly on rockblockers site. Much to my dismay, after the install, I have a ton of microscopic little bubbles that appear to be in the adhesive that haven't gone away after 4 days now.

After talking to Rockblocker, their answer was basically "tough luck, you screwed up on the install". Even though their site specifies a dry install, and via a pm I was told:
Quote:
RockBlocker previously said:
We do recommend a wet install. Use just water. The hotter the weather the more liquid you should use.
I offered to split the difference if they sent me a new kit to try over again and no reply

To add insult to injury, Rock Blocker charged me $7.15 for shipping of the light protection kit, yet my usps packing slip clearly marks the postage charge as $4.60. I guess that's where they are making back some money on the "newly discounted" kits.

I bought them too. I dont like the install and yes they bubbled with me also. I am sure someone with patience and good eyes could install them perfectly though. But thats not me.

Re: Thumbs Down to Rockblocker

Same issue with the numerous small bubbles. They did save my bubble light on my mirrior when my spotter did not see the tree.

Re: Thumbs Down to Rockblocker

Yup - if they don't respond, I'm gonna take the cash I had set aside and buy my lift.
