SCRATCHED UP FJ's IN THE ATL

North Georgia has a total watering ban so it looks like the car wash is our only relief. Not much mud for the mudders either.
I like to keep it clean so this is a real pisser, but it's for a good cause. We are in serious, serious shiite with the water situation here.

Do they allow you one day a week, before 9am or after 6pm to water your lawn? If so, just park your FJ on the lawn to wash it & you'll be watering the lawn at the same time. A lot of folks in Tampa did that a few years back when they banned car washing but left you one day a week to water the lawn.

Lanier down 12.9'
Thurmond down 10'
West Point down 12.4'

Re: SCRATCHED UP FJ's IN THE ATL

i can go up to a month and a half with out washing my fj (considering no wheeling done), what i do is everyday i take one of those car dusters and do a quick pass, the secret is to not let dust build up., and every week or so i would take my spray detailer and some clean microfiber rags and clean the body., and it looks great. i also have some window cleaner for the windows and armorall for the tires, tip ( when the wheels are wet from the armorall i clean them with paper towels, and they look as good as washed)

i live in an apartment and dont get to wash it as often as i would like, but this is a great system it has worked for me for since i got my fj., and hope this helps.

Re: SCRATCHED UP FJ's IN THE ATL

Yea, I heard driving in this morning on the radio that Atlata will be w/o water soon. What's driving it: lack of rain, population increase/sprawl?

It's been an incredible summer in Texas this year: after years of drought, water restrictions, preaching doom and gloom (it was stated many times that some lakes would take at least 10 years of regular rainfall to get back up to normal levels). Well, after a weekend of rain this spring, most of the reseviors were back to full and some overflowing (and, these are NOT small reseviors).

Hang in there...Mother Nature will right herself...

Both. Third driest year on record. And we added another 111,000 losers to the area.

Sorry for going off-topic. So yea I need to wash mine too. Covered in dust and mud from Grey Rock last weekend.

Yeah it really sucks, the county finally shut down the car wash. Lucky for me I washed it the day before.

Yeah...I'm pretty annoyed with the water ban I got back from camping and couldn't even clean my FJ off...so all I did was the interior :-\
