Re: Homemade Airdam Round 2

I can't wait to install it, Wayne. I'm in SLC this week and then move on to LV before finally getting back to CO. Once I get it set up, I will post pix.

I did get a custom graphics sticker made up as well (see previous post). So, we'll see how that works too...

Re: Homemade Airdam Round 2

It seems I was breaking the rules by offering the air dams for sale on the forum. I was offered vendor status, but I will decline because I'm not making enough money to cover vendor fees. There will be no further discussion of air dam production here. All those that have been in contact with me, please do not post or PM questions concerning air dams. Those of you who have contacted me already, please email me to discuss anything that may be of a concern. I hope you will continue to post pictures of your installations, or email them to me so I can post them. Thanks, Wayne

I know my opinion won't make any difference, but I think what was going on here was a great thing for the Forum and the Members, and I don't think it should be considered "breaking the rules". I understand the Forum is Vendor funded, and that Vendors may not want the Forum used to make potential customers aware of a competing product that is available from a company without Vendor Status. But my understanding has always been that if a private individual was making that product in their garage for Forum members, and prices weren't publicly discussed, that it would be allowed. It's been that way ever since the original Bandi Mount. I've been on here since the FJ came out and I've seen Vendors profit from Member ideas, suggestions, and even products on a regular basis. This could have become a situation where a Vendor bought an excellent design from a Member and produced it and everybody won. Shutting someone down who's sold a product offline to 14 Members instead, when the potential market for Airdams is many thousands of Customers, seems petty and jealous to me. Using heavyhanded tactics like this to smother competion will discourage Members from designing products we want and need, and stifles the spirit of member innovation that has been one of the greatest things about this Forum. Rant over.

Re: Homemade Airdam Round 2

i bought mine. .love it..

but.
if you are selling on the site.. it is owned by someone who does not charge users to come here. .they make money from ads and vendors.. so i do understand.. i thought this was worked out with the managment.. oh well..

nice piece anyway. .pm the guy if you want one.
that would be the best way to go.

you have to understand.. this is a place where you can find a large group of customers..
have them made in china.. covered in Lead.. and become a vendor here.. LOL

good luck .

Brian, I appreciate your support but I do understand why these rules exist. I may continue to sell air dams, but if I do it will be outside of this forum. I may decide to put them on ebay or sell direct to anyone contacting me by other means. I love this forum, and I will abide by the rules as I now understand them.
