Thanks for posting the P/N. 69210-0C010
I got the door handle assembly (not just the cover) today. Looks like exactly the same on the FJ ... will see after I swap them this weekend.

Re: Experiment: Blackout door handle using Tundra handle covers

Me LIKEY. I wanted black handles i just was afraid to paint something that was so visible (at least my grill is behind the ARB.) I will be making a order at the dealer soon. Any body have removal tips?

Can you get just the cover handle?

Check with your local dealer though I did not see it in the parts illustration.

The cover is being held by just one screw (with red locktite on thread) in the back and locking tab in the front of the handle assembly.

For removal tips, I've seen a few. Do a search for door handle or side mirror removal.

Re: Experiment: Blackout door handle using Tundra handle covers

I installed the Tundra black handles and lock covers today - they fit perfectly (identical to be exact), and look great (sorry no pics yet). You do not need to take anything apart to replace them - the Tundra units come as complete assemblies. You loosen one T30 torx bolt in the door, pull out the lock assembly, pull out the handle assembly, and then reinstall the new black units in the reverse order - ten minutes to do both sides. THe procedure is shown in the Toyota factory service manual - one tool, ten minutes, less than $50.00, and no paint to chip or re-do after the trail...I'm a happy camper !!!

Re: Experiment: Blackout door handle using Tundra handle covers

looks like i am paying a visit to the dealer tomorrow. Not only does this look better then having to paint it, but 10 minutes??? That beats having to wait 10 minutes between coats if i was spray painting. Looks like i will be spraying the mirrors however though.

Cruiser larry, You said it is in the service manual, is that the repair manual you are talking about. I am looking at it on brockandbecca, do you know what page it is near??

Can you post the page number in the manual for removing these handles? I ordered mine today and they'll be in on Tuesday.
