I can't ever imagine tearing into my dash that way....I am super deluxe jealous of someone that can though. Very cool thread...I am impressed. If I was to choose a color I think I would go with red....Very neat.
Thanks....Be on the look out for my DIY on remote start using the factory key fob!!! No cut wires!!! Yes, I'm for real!

Thumbs up Re: DIY LED Dash Swap: Gauge Cluster, AC, and Compass

Wow, great write up. I have been looking into getting this done, but was hoping to find an article like this. Can I ask where you bought the leds? I want to use the same type but in red and want to make sure I am using the right stuff. Thanks.

Re: DIY LED Dash Swap: Gauge Cluster, AC, and Compass

This is the Ebay LED's in red:
NEW 50X SMD SMT PLCC-2 Red LEDs 800mcd F/S - (eBay item 250073401387 end time Jan-09-08 02:36:02 PST)

Just know that these LED's are 800's and not 500's, this just means they'll be a bit brighter than the blue ones. IMO this will work better than the 500 mcd blue ones. This is a really good company too
