Lightbulb Coleman Rack is on!

Kudos to MudlovingFJ for this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"i ended up using the plastic mounting 'things' that came with the basket. i snugly fit them onto the sides of the rails of the basket and used (8) 1&3/4"X5/16" u-bolts (long ones) to mount them to the factory rack" -MudlovingFJ

I did the same and here are my pics. I found that it fit so snug I only needed to use 4 U-Bolts. I'm in the process of testing mountings for my shovel, axe and hi-lift Jack.

I used (Walmart) ColorPlace RustControl Satin all over the Coleman rack and the U-bolts. It color matched the OEM Rack very well!! I sprayed the hell out of it and all the connection points.

I got the Coleman to sit pretty low and pushed it back far. Ya I scratched the OEM rack, but its gonna happen anyway when I start packing stuff on top.

I want the axe and shovel to look a bit cleaner, so I'll end up trying other ways to attach them.

Again THX MudLovingFJ!!!!

Re: Coleman Rack is on!

The OME rack is alum. tube. So don't worry about the rust. Safetydave the clearence looks so tight, I can only wonder if you could do well placed hammer blows and make up for the clearence issue. What do you think ? In my opinion it looks better then the Garvin rack. I like it

Most Important ! "Scuba MOD"
To come: ARB comp., Snorkel, E1 Rear Bumper & (after Warrenty) RC 6", 4.88 gears, 35"s & TRD Super Charger.

The coleman rack however is not aluminum. It is steel and other members have had issues with rust.

Safetydave: how did you get that thing to sit back so far? Did you just push it really hard? It looked like it rubbed some coating off the factory rack.

Re: Coleman Rack is on!

That looks great, and more importantly, very functional.
